Ingredients

  • 300 g Capital Ukrainian Sausage (Sliced)

  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil

  • 1 tbsp Butter

  • 1 cup Onions (Diced)

  • 2 bags Pierogies (Frozen)

  • 2 Garlic (Minced)

  • 225 g Cream Cheese (Softened)

  • 1/2 cup Chicken Broth

  • 1/2 cup Milk

  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream

  • 1 tbsp Fresh Dill

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 2 tsp Pepper

  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese (Grated)

  • 3 Green Onions (Thinly Sliced)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350ºf. Arrange the pierogies in a greased 9x13 casserole dish.
  • Heat oil on butter in a frying pan on medium. Add onions and sausage and cook until brown and soft, about 5-6 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from pan, and scoop over top the pierogies in the baked dish.
  • Turn the heat on the pan to low. Add cream cheese to the pan and cook until the cheese begins to melt, whisking constantly. Add the broth and milk gradually and whisk until smooth. Mix in the next four ingredients and remove from heat.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the pierogies. Bake in the oven covered for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle cheese on top of the casserole, and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is melted.
  • Garnish with green onion slices and enjoy!
