Pasta Rapini & Hot Italian Sausage

Ingredients:

  • Olive Oil
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Celery
  • Italian Parsley
  • Jar of Crushed Tomatoes & Basil
  • White Wine
  • Butter
  • Boiled/Steamed Rapini
  • 500g Penne Pasta
  • Mariano’s Hot Italian Sausage
  1. Chop a medium sized Onion, a stick or two of Celery, and 1 or 2 cloves of Garlic. Add to a pan with Olive Oil, and begin to cook over medium-high heat. Chop up some Italian Parsley, and add to the pan. Cook until ingredients become golden in colour.
  2. Open a jar of crushed Tomatoes with Basil, and add to the cooking vegetables. Lower the heat to medium, stir, and begin to simmer the sauce. Grab some White Wine, and add it to the empty jar of Tomatoes. Swirl it around to get the remaining bits, and clean the jar. Add this Tomato-Wine mixture to the sauce and stir gently. Add about a tablespoon of butter, and optionally add chili flakes to the sauce for extra heat.
  3. Begin to cook the pasta. Add 500g Penne pasta to a pot of salted boiling water.
  4. Slice up some Mariano’s Hot Italian Sausage, and begin to fry in a pan with Olive Oil and Medium-High heat.
  5. When the Pasta is cooked to your liking, strain, and add it to a large serving bowl. Spoon the tomato sauce over the pasta and give it a mix. Garnish with steamed or boiled Rapini, and the cooked Mariano’s Italian Sausage. Top with grated Parmesan cheese, and serve!
